Beautifully Appointed Villa With Salt Water Pool, Jacuzzi And Sea & Mountain Views:
Our spacious villa has a private child friendly pool, pool bar sunbathing area, and a separate Jacuzzi patio. Throughout the extensive garden there are numerous sitting areas including two eating areas, one with a BBQ and the other ideal for a breakfast with a view to the sea. To the bottom of the garden there is a shady grassed lawn area with two comfy hammocks to relax in the heat of the afternoon. There is a cultivated garden area with numerous native fauna, flora, and herbs Towards the bottom of the garden there is a small olive grove and wild garden with fruit trees and natural wild Mediterranean flowers and shrubs. Visitors are welcome to pick fruit and herbs that are in season during their stay.
The pool patio overlooks Souda Bay and the Mediterranean sea. It has a solar heated shower, and the pool is child friendly, with a shallow “Beach” area. There is ample space for sun beads and a sitting area close to the "Jaguar Bar", named after the owners love of Jaguar cars! You will need to stock the bar yourself with your favourite drinks, but all the bar equipment, fridge, juicer and sink are fitted to the bar. Just the place to mix with your friends and discuss the day's activities.
The jacuzzi and spa is situated on it's own patio with beautiful views to the mountains. Perfect to relax with a glass of wine at the end of your day.
There are numerous pleasant sitting areas around the garden which take in the best views from the property. There is a paved patio area with Mediterranean sea views which is ideal for eating your breakfast and to discuss your plans for the day. We also have a separate permanent BBQ and patio to entertain your guests for a tasty evening BBQ.
Bonnevilla is stone built villa following traditional lines. It is situated on a small hillside with fabulous views of Souda Bay and the White Mountains, just outside the traditional Cretan village of Vamos, about 1 kilometre away. Vamos has several small shops for groceries and general supplies and a bakery. There are also a number of taverna's to eat out at and three nice coffee shops/bars to relax in the evening. The villa is approached by a private track running through olive groves and small forest.
The front door of our villa opens into a reception area with work station, Wi-Fi and power points. On the left of the lobby is a fully fitted kitchen with: Fridge, Freezer, Cooker, Dish Washer and Washing Machine. To the right is the dining area, which has a large table to sit 6, and the lounge. This room has a traditional open fire place, comfortable leather sofas and a TV which is enables to play DVDs and flash drives, it is also has access to play Netfix. The lounge opens out on to a shady balcony with seating and views to the sea.
The bedrooms are reached via a staircase in the lobby. There are two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. All have air-conditioning and ceiling fan for nights when it is less hot in the spring and autumn. The two master bedrooms have a shared balcony overlooking the garden towards the Mediterranean sea and Souda Bay. The twin bedroom has a private balcony looking out towards the White Mountains. The twin bedroom also has a TV which plays DVDs, so the children can watch their favourite films while the adults can have some quiet time. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs which has a toilet and bath, and the one downstairs has a toilet and shower.
There is ample parking for 4 or more cars. The nearby traditional village of Vamos is within walking easy distance, here you will find 3 grocery shops, 2 café/bars, a café', pharmacy, cocktail bar, bakery and 5 taverna's to eat out in. Vamos also has a large health centre with English speaking doctors. . A short drive away are the villages of Kalyves (15 mins), Gavalohori and Douliana (10 mins) and Almarida (15 mins). Kalyves and Almarida have all the essential amenities you will need for your holiday. There are several bars/café's, tavern's and pleasant sandy beaches. Kalyves beach is particularly ideal for small children, it is also on the main bus route that runs to Rethymno and Hania via the National Highway. In Hania you will find all the amenities and resources you would expect from a regional city.
There is a property manager available for any enquiries you may have during your stay and to advise on any local information that you need. (English and Greek speaking) You will find their contact number in the information booklet in the villa.
The property owner operates an adventurous activities company which offers adventures sports to visitors to Crete. As a guest of Bonnevilla you will be entitled to discount rates on: Guided treks, Guided kayak tours, Coasteering and Guided mountain bike tours.
